Dear Dog Diaries

Dear Dog,
I have recently been feeling very confused.   I keep being told to be nice , but humans continue to spiral downward in the game of nice.
Is life just one big game of Chutes and Ladders......?
I feel like my time on the ladder is brief...and that I spend a lot of time riding down the chutes (sometimes laughing on the trip down....sometimes screaming.)

My question .....is it normal, to be happy in the chutes???.
Help me Dog!!!!
                                       Confused in Crumble Town

Dear Confused,
While being on the ladder, may take more balance and strength....it is the more rewarding of the two situations that you mentioned....at least for a goal oriented ...thoughtful and conscientious  human.
Your reference to the game is interesting, indeed, with regard to societys view of good and bad, in general.
Gain or loss......reward...punishment....You get the picture.
In thoughtful consideration,  if ..climbing the ladder without a spotter.......an unfortunate fall could be hazardous.  So, one must be careful not to become too bold on their climb.
Your hint of a  gleeful ride down the chutes is surely troubling.... for any advice Guru to hear about.
While most chutes  are somewhat safe and  prevent real injury...the ride down is quick, requires no physical input , and no balance. It is also fast ...unpredictable, and the landing could be on your feet ...or on your ass.
The risk is up to each individual....
In regards to your question of being happy in the chutes.
You sound hormonal, labile......and in need of a cigarette...if you smoke.
Good luck,
Dog
