Crumble Town Blahs

Last night, we had an event in downtown Crumble Town .
We are starting First Fridays.
Which means:  On the  first Friday of every month, the downtown shops and cafes will stay open until 8pm.  The goal is to hopefully have the local people ( aka drones), come into the down town square and  enjoy the small businesses, the locally owned cafes, dress shops.....and (hello )...... YARN SHOPS.!!!!!
This is something that a lot of small cities and towns are starting to do.
In the summer,  a lot of downtown areas have outdoor dining,  music, food trucks, and quaint little booths and artsy type things.
It really could be fun.............really.
So there I am...participating,  in my yarn shop .....even offering a special little prize for the first..... First Friday customer.  ............................and ...............nothing..............crickets
The only one to come in was Cindy Bee and her hubs.  So I closed up at 7 and went down to the gallery to visit the other peeps downtown.  We had some wine, cheese, treats, and told war stories
BTW..... I don't know where I have been, but I did try some Moscato wine .....and I loved it.  I think we are going to be good friends.
As we chatted.....I decided that..... I would maybe wear a dress to the winter fiber show, my friend Beth lives in an ice box, and my Assistant told everyone that I wear a hat and hand warmers to bed :(
We figured a lot of people didn't get out for our event due to the temperature.
OK ....so it was only 2 degrees  !!!
It was a dry, and non windy  2 degrees though.
Come On!!!!!
Anyhoo ...The assistant and I went ahead and went out for steak (I was craving some mammal meat)
And....guess what....The stupid chain restaurants were packed.
"Cold weather sure can't  keep a Crumble Town drone from a Roadhouse roll or a fried onion",  I said to my assistant......as I almost ran a stop sign.
I wish these peeps would venture out of the box and decide to explore life.
"Is there nothing else that interests these peeps......besides food??!!!!!??"
Throw them a video, A Downton Abby rerun,  an I phone , a bag of Funyuns, or a potato skin and they are happy.
Save me.

sigh

PS...I heard today on the news that vending machines will be banned from schools.....
Remember how great it was to grab a Tab and a candy bar  before track or volley ball practice???
Those were the days.
Do kids still play sports.....?
Are they allowed?..........I think I might not like  the 2000s...so far..

Oh......btw...I am on a Funyun kick

I wish something like your downtown area with little shops and stuff was closer cause I would go there.. Including the yarn shops.. I love those little shops no matter what they sell..Vending machines in schools are mostly gone here already from what I have heard from my grandkids.. When I went to high school in upstate NY we did not have any but I remember the Tab from the store. Enjoy the weekend, Hugs Mausie

Maybe you're not really a Crumble Town girl at heart. Maybe you're in the wrong town.

Ah tab. We used to think TAB stood for 'totally artificial beverage'.
